Part 2
So you have your tribe built. Hopefully around 30 families. What comes next? Now it gets more material. You need land, preferably in a rural area. I would suggest stay away from seashores. Like at least 500 miles away. To give you a personal point of reference, I once lived 160 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico (America for all the Trump crowd). A CAT5 hurricane hit and we spent 2 weeks with no power and 8 weeks with no gasoline. The mess of a Tribulation event makes that seem like child’s play. In the land acquisition you will get your first test of your tribe. You are looking for land with some vertical, hopefully no utilities run to it, and off the beaten path. You are going to need to figure out how you power things? How close a proximity do you want your living quarters? What facilities do you want in common? What kind of organizational structure are you going to use? Where you do need to interface with the existing society, how do you do it? Are tribal members still trying to work in the system at a “job”? How do you handle large group material acquisitions? When the time comes, how do you defend your new community?
These are things you need to answer. I can offer some of our formats as well as some references for things along this line. As a reference Marshall Masters has written several books along this line, all of which are good thought provokers. His works in turn have references of their own to look at. If you are near an Amish Community, learn about them. Our organizational structure borrows from Special Forces style military of the 80s and US corporate structure. Power and decision making tends to be localized and extremely decentralized. Essentially there is a format for the organization that promotes production to support the survival and prosperity of the families comprising the Clan. Production runs through a Guild type format, although members are required at certain times to assist with other “Guilds”. A Church based Trust with ownership shares based on contribution is the “legal” format. Any financial exchange within the Clan is precious metals based. No debt is used inside or outside. We do not support usury, fractional reserve institutions, corporate personhood, or taxation. If one of the Clan members has an idea and needs help pulling it off, it is done as voluntary investment plan. If it fails, all parties take a haircut. If the Clan as a whole has a need, develop a fund raiser. The Amish are great at this in our local area.
Energy production comes from a variety of sources. For sewage we have decided to use a bio-digestor system and water hyacinth pond for final water cleaning. You will need your own testing set up if you choose this path. It produces gas and bio mass for fuel, fertilizer for plants, as well as taking care of the sewage. You will need multiple bio-digestor units so that when one is down for cleaning, another is processing your waste. I suggest 3 separate units with the ability to easily switch from one to another. Wind and solar may be used, although know their limitations and weak points. Using wind to generate hydrogen to then store in fuel cells for general power production is another path we have chosen. We also live in a very windy area. Switching to DC powered machines ultimately is another decision we made. Saves on inverters and lets you roll out “dumb” machines versus the weaponized spy crap the “smart” devices represent. We are planning to use a lot of shallow underground and earth sheltered construction which limits cooling/heating requirements. We also plan to use a “Quonset” hut style structure for strength and insulation. Well water is abundant here and we do collect rain water. Again, testing is a need. while purification is always a concern, so is mineral filtering. We have very heavy lime and iron content in our well water typically. This should get your thoughts juiced for now. The next part we will get into communications.
